Tech Note - Google Ads Updates in v1.62

Overview

Starting in version 1.62 of Matillion ETL:

• The Google AdWords Query component has been deprecated. This deprecation is in line with Google sunsetting the AdWords API on 27th April, 2022. On this date, any Google AdWords jobs in your Matillion ETL instance will fail.
• A new component is available instead: Google Ads Query.
• The new Google Ads Query component uses a Matillion ETL Google Ads developer token by default. Users no longer need to configure this parameter themselves in the manner they did for the Google AdWords Query component. However, users can set a new value for the GOOGLE_ADS_DEVELOPER_TOKEN if they wish by following the instructions in How to set your own Google Ads developer token.
